We began making Littlemax in 2010 in response to a demand for smaller, lighter flakes which would offer the hygiene and low dust benefits we are renowned for.
Owners who use Littlemax know that it addresses all the health and welfare issues related to keeping your horse in the stable, and it’s extremely easy to use, manage and maintain and is an excellent timesaver.
Littlemax shavings are made at our three dedicated production plants across the UK from fresh timber sourced from renewable British forestry.
Ultra Low Dust
Dust can seriously damage your horse’s respiratory system. Littlemax Shavings have one of the lowest levels of dust and spores on the market.
Hoof Care
The combination of smaller flake sizes offers excellent support under hoof. We also dry Littlemax to a controlled moisture content to prevent hooves from drying.
Hygiene
We dry our shavings at sterilising temperatures in our UK based manufacturing plants during production for hygiene reasons.
Hocks & Joints
Littlemax helps create a clean, supportive bed that encourages horses to lie down whilst providing cushioning for hocks and other joints.
Manages Moisture
Littlemax’s fine shavings are excellent at draining urine from the surface of the bed to be absorbed at the base, keeping the surface dry.
Rest
A comfortable, clean, natural bed encourages horses to lie down and rest properly allowing them to achieve necessary REM sleep
