Bedmax Woodshavings Pallet — Premium Large Flake Pine Bedding for Horses & Ponies
Purpose-made large flake pine shavings designed specifically for equine stable bedding. Bedmax has been crafted since 2000 to address respiratory health, hoof care, hygiene and joint support — manufactured to exacting standards at dedicated UK production plants.
Dust Extracted — Bedding is a primary dust source in stables. Bedmax maintains one of the lowest dust levels available, protecting your horse's respiratory system.
Hoof Care — Large flakes deliver firm, resilient support. Controlled moisture content prevents hooves from drying, cracking and deteriorating.
Hygiene & Antibacterial — Fresh pine shavings offer natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. Sterilised during production to minimise harmful bacteria and fungi.
Joint & Rest Support — Clean, supportive bedding encourages horses to lie down for essential REM sleep, cushioning hocks and joints from impact damage.
Ammonia Reduction — Quality bedding management reduces ammonia exposure, protecting respiratory function and hoof integrity.
Each 18kg bag covers approximately 2–3 square metres when pressure-packed. An average loose box requires 4–6 bags for optimal 6–8 inch depth. Most users maintain beds with 1–1.5 bags weekly. Bank shavings 12–18 inches high around walls as reserve clean bedding for extended bed life, particularly on matted floors.
Loosen and aerate shavings with a fork, spread evenly, then remove droppings promptly. Gently shake the fork to return clean shavings to the bed. Every 2–3 days, heap loosened surface shavings into banks, remove wet areas, and redistribute. Add fresh shavings as needed to maintain correct depth.
