Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good lightweight trimmer for tidying a horse’s head, ears and bridle path?

The Liveryman Nova Trimmer is an excellent choice for detailed tidying work around a horse’s head, ears, bridle path and jawline. It is designed to be agile and easy to manoeuvre in tight areas, with adjustable cutting height and a shape and weight that makes precision work comfortable and controlled.

Is the Nova Trimmer suitable for someone new to trimming horses?

Yes — the Nova is one of the most user-friendly trimmers in the Liveryman range. Its lightweight design and easy handling make it a great option for riders and owners who are newer to trimming and want a reliable, manageable tool for keeping their horse looking neat between professional clips.

What is the difference between the Liveryman Nova and the Classic Trimmer?

Both are professional equine trimmers, but they serve slightly different purposes. The Classic Trimmer is geared towards showring-level precision, with ceramic blades built for long-term professional use. The Nova is lighter and more agile, making it the better choice for everyday tidying, quick touch-ups and detailed work in hard-to-reach areas. Many professionals keep both in their kit.
